Jim Hart

I am a visual artist and currently reside in Holyrood, NL. I have spent decades capturing the rugged beauty and uniqueness of what, to me, is the soul of Rural and Urban Newfoundland and Labrador. My first love is Fine Art Photography (45 yrs) and that has morphed into Paintings (20yrs). I like to look for the unique viewpoint. My approach is part traditional and part innovation and I attempt to evoke a feeling that captures the essence of our amazing province. I paint, mostly in oils, in loose or painterly style rather than precise detail . And I can't resist dabbling in watercolor and pastel. A long time member of AANL and board member for 10 years. Have studied under fellow AANL members Glenda Barrett and Gary Smith
