Join us at our first of two ‘Paint the City’ plein air events made possible due to a grant from the City of St. John’s. This first session will be led by Shawn Williams where he will provide tips, tricks, and advice! We will meet at the Harbourside Park entrance at 10am (across from the War Memorial). This event is weather dependent and an update will be posted here on the website and distributed via email if the event is cancelled.

Shawn’s Bio:

I am a Newfoundland landscape artist specializing in plein air painting and working primarily in acrylics. Inspired by the rugged coastlines, rolling hills, and ever-changing light of Newfoundland, I create paintings that capture the beauty, atmosphere, and spirit of the places I experience firsthand.

Painting outdoors allows me to connect directly with the landscape, translating its colours, textures, and moods into expressive works that celebrate the natural world. My work reflects a deep appreciation for Newfoundland's unique environment and the quiet moments found within it.

Through each painting, I strive to share not only the visual beauty of the landscape but also the sense of place, emotion, and connection that makes Newfoundland such an enduring source of inspiration.
